In the light of Jesus, we learn to shine
Forest School is an integral part of learning at Elmsett, supporting all children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural education enabling them to be independent, self-motivated, courageous and considerate as well setting children up for lifelong learning.
All children enjoy sessions all year round exploring either Hazel Wood, Buckle's Wood, our school allotment or our outdoor classroom.
Forest School is '"An inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.” (Forest School Association 2020).

This term at Forest School has been so busy!
We started off looking at the season of Autumn and looking at how the woods have changed and what we could see, hear and feel. We identified the different trees we have in the woods and which leaves belonged to which trees.
We have enjoyed climbing, exploring and discovering this term. The seasonal changes have been really amazing. The weather has been mild but also wet and windy.
We have tried to light a fire each time but it has been a bit tricky but we have shown resilience and have great perseverance.
This term we have: Toasted Marshmallows, made Blackberry ink, created woodland gardens, worked together, made bird boxes with the Elmsett Eco Group and finished by making Christmas decorations and cooking and eating Chocolate Oranges on the campfire
